IES Executive Team

 

CHARLIE BUTTS, PRESIDENT and CEO

Background: Mr. Butts began his career in 1979 for a Northern California HVAC contractor. He advanced quickly to Service manager where he effectively managed over 20 service technicians. Mr. Butts joined a California based HVAC contractor in 1986 as a Regional Sales Manager. He was promoted to the position of Sacramento Branch Manager in 1990, a position he held until his promotion to Vice President. Mr. Butts has attended several professional courses including UC Davis Executive Extension Program, FMI Financial Management and Seven Habits of Successful People. He has also served two terms as MSCA board member and is currently an MCAA board member.

Responsibilities: General management of company's operations. Responsible for helping develop and implement the company's strategic business plan. Responsible for sales, marketing, engineering, financial planning, control and business development activities. Work within company guidelines for capital investments and resource allocation, general accounting and human resources policies that are established.

 

STAN BUTTS, VICE PRESIDENT, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Background: Mr. Butts has over 25 years experience in HVAC, lighting and performance contracting industry. His career began in 1981 as a Service Technician and advanced to Service Manager. In 1983 he elected to take a position in account management, engineering, estimating, energy services and project management. Mr. Butts then worked for a major equipment manufacturer servicing Northern California. In 1990 he took a position as a Regional Manager with multiple service responsibilities. In 1997 his career moved to the Energy Services arena. With his past experience in all aspects of the industry it enabled him to utilize this knowledge and apply it to the benefit of his customers. Mr. Butts has personally headed the development team for over 100 School Districts and numerous commercial and/or industrial facilities.

Responsibilities: Mr. Butts is responsible for coordinating all facets of the IES Team throughout Northern California. He maintains and updates all process-related activities within IES and develops and approves all policies and business strategies. He also heads the Facility Solution Team which offers our customers a fully encompassing facility approach.

 

RUS ANDREWS, VICE PRESIDENT and DIRECTOR OF CUSTOMER SERVICE

Background: In 1971 Mr. Andrews received his AA Degree in Mechanical Design from San Jose City College. He then applied his degree in the field as a service technician. In 1979 Mr. Andrews helped open a branch office in Sacramento. In 1988 Mr. Andrews founded IES to provide quality service to Northern California. Rus has served on many Industry Committees from ASHRAE, and ACCA, to UC Davis and UC Berkeley extension programs. In 1999 Rus received the prestigious Air-conditioning Contractor of America Commercial Excellence Award for IES.

Responsibilities: To evaluate and be responsible for any and all future and existing customer needs and recommend IES products and services which will aide our customers. Effectively manage and communicate with IES internal and external customers with the purpose of earning their trust, respect and confidence.

 

KEN PETRO, BOARD MEMBER

Mr. Petro’s background includes being the owner and president of his own company that was acquired by a California Contractor in 1979. During the next twenty years Ken held a number of management positions, with the last five years as Senior Vice president of the Northern California Region. As a member of its board of directors he helped build a state wide HVAC Mechanical company from 35 million to its current level of 170 million. He was also responsible for developing and managing the company’s Energy Services Group.

Responsibilities: Mr. Petro is responsible for the overall performance of IES operations. He will guide, develop and implement the company's strategic business plan. He will oversee and manage the expansion of IES into the Santa Rosa Region as well as the expansion of Sacramento.
